Saint Mary Storm Athletics

St. Mary Interparochial School belongs to the Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). CYO programs encourage partnerships among parents coaches, priests, religious, teachers and other dedicated adults in the management and support of sports programs for youth. CYO is just one component of a comprehensive youth ministry that mentors young people as they grow in their relationship with God and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic faith.

All St. Mary’s athletes learn to play hard and recognize the values of respect and grace when winning and courage and self-reflection when losing. Competitive athletic teams for grades K through 8 are organized in volleyball, basketball,  baseball, cross country, and soccer.

Students who are interested in playing are encouraged to sign up. The Storm teams play competitively under the guidance of parents who volunteer their time, energy, talents and resources. Coaches are committed to help our budding athletes learn about teamwork and collaboration, improve their skills and knowledge of the games, set challenging goals, get great exercise, and most of all to have some fun!

After three years at the helm, Kevin Barmann will be stepping down as Volunteer Athletic Director after this school year. We are very grateful for Kevins’ dedication and vision for strengthening and expanding our STORM athletic program. Kevin has volunteered countless hours to our student athletes and their families! To prepare for this transition, we are taking this opportunity to restructure the leadership roles to better support the fall, winter and spring sports teams.

Special thanks to Kevin Barmann for several years of serving our Storm Athletic Program. He helped strengthen the opportunities for our student athletes and also led several teams to championships. We wish you the best of luck and thank you once again for your time, expertise, and support over the years!

Frank Gentile, parent ‘27, and Julie Sarver, parent ‘28 will take over as Co-Athletic Directors for the 2024-2025 school year!  Planning has already begun for another exciting year of STORM athletics! GO STORM!

To streamline the process of Signing up for Athletics, the school has a new website for Saint Mary’s Athletic Teams.

To help assist parents with sign-ups, below is the process to create an account.

  1. Each family needs to register at the top right of the website. In that registration, you will need to enter specific information for any child in your family, who might want to participate in Saint Mary’s Sports. You can add multiple email addresses, for each family.
  2. When a sports team is being formed, and signups are available, if your child is eligible for that team, you will be able to sign them up on this website. When an Athletics team is being formed, parents will receive an email to register their interested students on this website.

Click here for the Saint Mary Storm Website.
