Seventh Grade Teacher Job Description (Full Time)
Position: Faculty (Full Time): Seventh Grade Teacher
Start Date: August 2024
Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- This position requires some weeknights, weekends, and summer planning meetings. (10 month position)
Reports: Principal and Assistant Principal
Responsibilities
The Saint Mary Seventh Grade Teacher’s responsibilities:
- As the Seventh Grade Homeroom Teacher, provide instruction in the following subject areas:
- English Language Arts in Grades 7 and 8
- Science in Grades 7 and 8
- Essential Functions
- Maintains high professional standards consistent with the school's mission and vision, and the Catholic Church's teaching.
- Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives.
- Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development in a timely manner.
- Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade books, with support from the administration.
- Responsible for students' safety and active supervision both in and outside the classroom.
- Chaperone and attend “in-school” events.
- Provide other duties as needed to support the daily operations of the school.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- PA Certification Preferred
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
- Prior teaching experience is preferable.
- All required criminal background checks, including but not limited to Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Clearance.

Additional Notes:
This employee will be required to attend in-service days held for full-time employees. This employee would be required to attend faculty/staff meetings that occur during the school day.
