Saint Mary STREAM and Entrepreneurship Program
Saint Mary Interparochial School created a K-8 STREAM Program, through the support of the Ambassador's Fund for Catholic Education grant, in August 2019. The STREAM program fosters the development of our students’ problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaborative learning skills through a strong faith-based lens. This year, through the support of another Ambassador's Fund for Catholic Education grant, we enhanced our educational programming to add the real-world element of Entrepreneurship. Students work towards making real-world project-based learning connections to the Works of Mercy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Saint Mary Interparochial School is the only elementary school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to offer this elective. Through this grant, 901 Education has partnered with our school to support Saint Mary’s with curriculum development, community outreach, and professional development for staff. So far into this new elective, students have been able to have authentic connections with local nonprofits about their identified needs and the products that would support their missions as well as meet with community leaders in regards to their own businesses and entrepreneurial strategies.
