November Alumni Spotlight

Ms. Grace Bridy, Class of 2012

Grace Bridy graduated Valedictorian from Hallahan High School in 2016 with over 1,000 hours of community service and received the Mayor's Scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2017, Grace broke the mold and took a two year hiatus to live in Germany and Brazil, where she traveled to 9 countries and explored 30+ new cities. In the last fours years, Grace Bridy has worked for three non-profits spanning youth leadership, refugee resettlement, and global change empowerment, and lead the formation of a complete design package - t-shirts, programs, nametags, logos, and ads - for a 200+ person conference with self-taught skills for HOBY Youth Leadership.

While in Germany, Grace received a diploma in Outdoor Education from Camp Adventure, where she lived in a forest for six months and was trained in High Ropes Course Safety and Rescue, archery, slacklining, canoeing, kayaking, team building, food presentation, and director’s training! During another six month stay, she worked in a commercial kitchen as the chef for 150+ campers and staff, directed four sessions of camp in Germany and Spain, and was a high ropes course manager.

When asked how St. Mary Interparochial School has led her to these opportunities, Grace responded, “I cannot say St. Mary led me to anything in particular, because it led me to all of it. St. Mary Interparochial School is a part of who I am - my values, my curiosity, and my drive to serve others.”

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Ms. Grace Bridy!
