Celebrating Las Posadas: A Christmas Tradition

Celebrating Las Posadas at St. Mary Interparochial School

Today, we celebrate our annual Las Posadas Christmas Pageant, where many of our students took part in presenting the Nativity Scene, reading scripture, and singing Christmas hymns!

Las Posadas, Spanish for "The Inns", is a religious festival celebrated in Mexico and some parts of the United States between December 16 and 24.

Las Posadas commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus.

When they were unable to find lodging in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary were forced to seek shelter in a stable, where Christ was born.

At St. Mary Interparochial School, we are blessed to have Mrs. Pimpinella and Mrs. Crossan-Sanicky, who organize our Las Posadas celebration each year. Thank you, Mrs. Pimpinella and Mrs. Crossan-Sanicky!

St. Mary Interparochial School wishes all our St. Mary friends and family members a safe and blessed Holiday Season!
