Future City Team Wins Two Awards at Regional Competition

Congratulations to our Future City team who competed at the regional Future City Competition this past Saturday! This year, our team was tasked with choosing a threat to their city’s water supply and designing a resilient system to maintain a reliable supply of clean water. To answer these prompts, our students researched and developed Eventide: a Sustainable, Advanced, Floating City!

Our team won two awards - Best Moving Part, presented by the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), Philadelphia Section, and Family-Friendly Neighborhoods, presented by the National Association of Women in Construction. Our students were also one of 8 teams asked to present in May to the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers, Delaware County Chapter. We are so proud of our four Future City students!

We thank our 5th-8th grade STEAM Partner, Philadelphia Electrical & Technology Charter High School, for providing these amazing opportunities for our students.
