On Thursday, May 2nd, our students in grades 2 through 8 enjoyed a Tree Talk hosted by Ms. Susan Edens, Landscape Architect with the National Park Service!
Our students learned more about the trees they have been researching for our 17th Annual Walkathon, including the American Chestnut, Chinese Chestnut, Sugar Maple, Chinese Elm, Kentucky Coffee Tree, Red Oak, and Fernleaf Beech.
What better way to enjoy the day than in our own Independence National Historical Park!
With our Walkathon just a week away, we are keeping the momentum going!
Our students in grades 1 through 4 spent May 6th and 7th visiting the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, thanks to a Target field trip grant, in preparation for our upcoming Walkathon!
They had fun learning all about nature and wildlife that is thriving just a short bus trip away from our school!
