Today, May 2, 2018, SEPTA marked its sixth annual System-Wide Safety Day!
This year, SEPTA enlisted the help of our students in K-8 to design posters and write essays on what transit safety means to them. The students’ work was incorporated in Safety Day brochures, which were handed out to SEPTA customers during the morning rush and on a bus wrap, which will travel throughout the city over the coming month.
Some of our students were given the opportunities to become Safety Officers this morning and traveled to el and subway stops around the city to hand out the SEPTA Safety pamphlets.
Afterward, our students assembled on the roof for a great celebration for our SEPTA Safety essay and drawing winners!
We even had a special guest stop by to join the fun - Pheobe Phanatic!
Thank you, SEPTA, for partnering with St. Mary Interparochial School and allowing our students to spend the day celebrating and spreading awareness of SEPTA Safety Day!
