This year, our Fall Fundraiser, which helps kick-off our 2018-2019 Golden Giving Campaign, supports our St. Mary STEAM Education! Our 12th Annual Harvest Hoedown was special in so many ways. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our Hoedown, typically held completely outside along Locust Street, became an outdoor-indoor celebration.
Thanks to our fantastic coordinators and parent and alumni volunteers, the Hoedown went off without a hitch! We are so thankful for their dedication to St. Mary Interparochial School. Both Locust Street and our school building was packed with members of our school community, friends, family, teachers, staff and alumni, celebrating our annual Harvest festival!
This year's Hoedown was also a celebration of STEAM Education! Not only was our event booklet posted online and viewed via QR Code to celebrate technology in our school, but a STEAM activity table was also created by our STEAM team - Mrs. Cammisa, Mrs. Bridy, and Mrs. Kristin Ricchuiti. Here, our guests experimented with chemical reactions with pumpkin and apple volcanoes and among other fun STEAM activities!
We served delicious food from local restaurants, such as T&N Food Truck, Campo's Cheesesteaks, and Square Pie Pizza. Our bake table was a huge success once again this year - over 30 parents volunteered to bake treats for the school! Thank you!
The Saul 4-H petting zoo returned once again, which continues to be a showstopper each year! Many children and adults lined up to pet the sheep on Locust. We even had our local firemen stop by to give lucky guests a tour of their firetruck! Thank you, Engine 11, A Platoon for stopping by our Hoedown!
Congratulations, to Jaden Clark-Cole, Class of 2018, who was named our Harding Alumni Award Winner for demonstrating excellence in service to the community. Jaden is a true example of our mission statement which calls us to shape "Christ-centered leaders of the 21st Century". Congratulations, Jaden!
The St. Joseph the Worker Award was presented to the the Autieri Family for demonstrating exceptional support to our school. Over many years, the Autieri family has gone above and beyond to help our school community thrive, and we are so very grateful! Thank you to all the members of the Autieri Family for your steadfast dedication to St. Mary Interparochial School!
Our wonderful event sponsor, Mrs. Kristin Daly of The Daly Group at KW Philly, crowned our royal court this year with the help of her son, Leo! Our Harvest Hoedown Royal Court consists of those who sold the most raffle tickets for our Hoedown in grades K-4 and 5-8. This year, we crowned Kayla (2nd) John (2nd) Lindsay (6th) and AJ (8th). Congratulations to our 2018 Hoedown royalty!
Our 1st Grade (top) and 5th Grade (bottom) classes were the winners of the Scarecrow Contest this year! These classes will be celebrating with a dress down day. Congratulations, 1st and 5th Grade!
This year, over 45 St. Mary Alumni participated in our annual Alumni Service Day! Each year, our alumni help pull off this incredible event by working hard from start to finish. It's always exciting to see the informal reunion take place between both classmates and teachers!
Thank you to all of our sponsors, parent volunteers, donors, alumni, bakers, classroom captains, teachers, staff, students and Harvest Hoedown Committee for helping to make this the most successful Harvest Hoedown yet!
